2. Visiting this website

When you visit our website, technically necessary data is processed. This may include, in particular, your IP address, the date and time of access, the page visited, and information about your browser and operating system. This data is processed to provide the website, maintain its security and identify technical errors. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of the website.

The website is provided using Hostinger services. Our invoice identifies Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus, as our contractual partner. Website content is delivered through a content delivery network (CDN) and may therefore be served from various network locations. There is no single fixed server location for this website.

Hostinger may engage additional service providers to deliver its services. Where this involves processing personal data outside the European Economic Area, the processing is subject to the applicable data protection safeguards, including EU Standard Contractual Clauses where appropriate.

3. Contacting us

If you contact us by email or through a contact form, we process the data you provide to respond to your enquiry. This includes, in particular, your email address and the content of your message.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. If your enquiry relates to entering into or performing a contract, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

We delete this data once it is no longer needed to handle your enquiry, unless statutory retention obligations require otherwise. You can contact us through the contact form on our website or by email at hello@m-schneeweiss.com.

4. Free checklist and newsletter

You can subscribe to our newsletter through our website and receive the free “Starting Your Own Business” checklist.

For your subscription, we process your email address and, if you provide it, your first name. We also process your subscription status and the dates and times of your subscription and confirmation. Technical information about email sending and delivery may also be stored.

After submitting the form, you will first receive an email containing a confirmation link. Your subscription is only completed once you click this link (the double opt-in process). You will then automatically receive an email containing the link to the free checklist.

Once you have confirmed your subscription, you will also regularly receive emails containing information and ideas about self-employment, structure and organisation, as well as occasional information about my own services and offers.

This processing is based on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, particularly by using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each newsletter email or by emailing hello@m-schneeweiss.com.

We use Hostinger Reach for newsletter subscriptions, subscriber management and email distribution. The provider is Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. Hostinger processes data on our behalf to the extent necessary to provide the newsletter service.

To measure the performance of our newsletters, Hostinger Reach records whether an email has been delivered and opened, and whether links within it have been clicked. Tracking pixels and personalised links may be used for this purpose. The resulting information is associated with the respective newsletter recipient and analysed by us to improve email delivery and content. In particular, we analyse open rates, click rates, delivery status, bounce rates and unsubscribes.

This performance measurement is based on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, particularly by unsubscribing from the newsletter.

Your newsletter data is generally stored for as long as you remain subscribed. Once you unsubscribe, your data is removed from the active mailing list. Data required to demonstrate that consent was given may be retained until the applicable statutory limitation periods have expired. Any further processing takes place only where there is a legal obligation or another legal basis.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

At present, this website does not use cookies or similar technologies requiring consent for analytics, advertising or marketing purposes. In particular, we do not currently use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or the Meta Pixel.

When you visit the website, technically necessary information may be processed or stored on your device to the extent required to provide the website and maintain its security and functionality. The legal basis for the associated processing of personal data is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of the website.

The fonts, images and other website components used on this website are provided through Hostinger’s infrastructure or content delivery network. When this content is accessed, your IP address and technical information about your browser and device may be processed.

Our website also contains links to external platforms such as Instagram and LinkedIn. A connection to these platforms is established only when you click the relevant link. Any subsequent processing of personal data is governed by the privacy policy of the respective platform operator.

If we introduce analytics, marketing or other technologies requiring consent in the future, they will only be activated after you have given your consent. In that case, we will provide an appropriate consent mechanism and update this privacy policy.

6. Recipients and transfers to third countries

We use external service providers to operate and provide our website, contact form, free checklist and newsletter. Personal data is transferred to these providers only to the extent necessary for the respective service.

Our principal service provider is Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. Hostinger provides, in particular, the website’s technical infrastructure, hosting and content delivery network, as well as newsletter subscription, contact management and email distribution functions through Hostinger Reach. Where Hostinger processes personal data on our behalf, this is governed by a data processing agreement.

Hostinger may engage additional subprocessors to provide its services. These may include providers of cloud and server infrastructure, content delivery networks, IT security, technical support, email distribution and delivery verification. According to Hostinger’s current data processing agreement, these include—depending on the services actually used—Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, Google Cloud EMEA Limited, Cloudflare, Inc., MailChannels Corporation, Proofpoint, Inc., Anthropic Ireland, Limited, spectra tech, UAB and Vonage B.V.

Depending on the service and technical infrastructure used, personal data may also be processed outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. Hostinger states that individual servers or subprocessors may be located in countries including the United States, Brazil, Singapore and Indonesia.

Where the European Commission has not adopted an adequacy decision for the relevant third country, transfers are based, in particular, on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission under Article 46(2)(c) GDPR and, where appropriate, additional safeguards. The EU Standard Contractual Clauses form part of Hostinger’s data processing agreement.

Further information about data processing and the subprocessors currently used can be found in Hostinger’s data processing agreement:

You can also email hello@m-schneeweiss.com if you would like further information about the service providers used or the safeguards applying to transfers to third countries.

7. Your rights

Where the applicable legal requirements are met, you have the following rights regarding the processing of your personal data:

  • Right of access: You can request information about whether we process personal data about you, which data we process, the purposes of processing, the recipients of the data and how long it is stored.

  • Right to rectification: You can request that inaccurate personal data be corrected and incomplete personal data be completed.

  • Right to erasure: You can request the deletion of your personal data where the legal requirements are met. In particular, this right does not apply where continued storage is necessary to comply with a legal obligation or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

  • Right to restriction of processing: Where the legal requirements are met, you can request that the processing of your personal data be restricted.

  • Right to data portability: Where processing is based on your consent or a contract and is carried out by automated means, you can request to receive the personal data you have provided in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, or to have it transferred to another controller where technically feasible.

  • Right to object: Where processing is based on Article 6(1)(e) or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you can object to the processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. Where personal data is processed for direct marketing, you can object at any time without giving a reason.

  • Right to withdraw consent: You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before your consent was withdrawn. For the newsletter, you can use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email.

To exercise your rights, please email hello@m-schneeweiss.com. Where necessary, we may request additional information to verify your identity when handling your request.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, particularly the authority in the country of your habitual residence, place of work or the location of the alleged data protection infringement.

As the data controller is based in Spain, you can contact the following supervisory authority in particular:

Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD)
C/ Jorge Juan, 6

We may update this privacy policy if the services used on this website, the way personal data is processed or the applicable legal requirements change. The current version is available on this website. The date at the beginning of this privacy policy indicates when it was last updated.

If a change materially affects the processing of your personal data, we will inform you appropriately, for example through a clearly visible notice on our website or, where appropriate and where we have your contact details, by email.

If we intend to process personal data further for a different purpose in the future, we will inform the affected individuals of the new purpose and all relevant information before that further processing begins. Where consent is required for the new processing, we will obtain it beforehand.
